The three original Potluck Ramblers met at a Potluck Dinner some 14 or 15 years ago, thus our name; but the name is also descriptive of the kind of music we play. Although our primary genre is Bluegrass, we are constantly looking for music we can shape to our “potluck” style and that would include most every kind of music imaginable. One moment we'll be playing a 1920's blues tune and the next, we've taken one of the old classic rock & roll numbers and made it ours. Our band loves a challenge and you will no doubt hear us do music you may not of heard in years, or perhaps have never heard. Players include Jim Allen on Banjo (sometimes replaced by Kyle Ellison, an original Rambler, when Jim is not available); Bob Bush on bass (or Marty Miller if Bob is occupied elsewhere; Jim Cowles, guitar and lead vocal; Chip Bush on Mandolin and vocals (Tom Cunningham on the fiddle, often fills in for Chip) and Eddie Hysinger, on harps and dobro. We welcome you to hear a little of our music by visiting us at: www.potluckramblers.com.
